Questions people actually ask
- Is this face shape test free?
- Yes. There is no sign-up, no account and no paywall in front of your result. You see your face shape, your measured ratios and the reasoning before we ask you for anything.
- Does my photo get uploaded to a server?
- No. The analysis runs entirely inside your browser using MediaPipe compiled to WebAssembly. The image is read into your browser's memory, landmarks are detected on your device, and no network request ever carries your photo. You can verify this yourself in the Network tab of your developer tools.
- How accurate is the face shape detector?
- We don't publish an accuracy percentage, because any number we printed here would be one we can't independently verify. What we publish instead is the full rule set and every threshold on our /about page, plus your own measured ratios on the result page, so you can check the reasoning against your face yourself.
- How does the AI face shape detector work?
- You give it one photo and it gives back a shape with the numbers behind it: 478 landmarks detected, the proportions between them measured, and a match to one of the seven face shapes. The AI face shape detector runs on your device, so the photo itself is never uploaded.
- Is a face type detector the same as a face shape detector?
- Yes. A face type detector, a face shape recognizer and a face shape detector are three names for one job: reading your proportions from a photo and naming the shape they point to. The wording varies between tools; the measurements do not.
- Is a face shape finder the same as a face shape analyzer?
- Yes. Face shape finder, face shape analyzer and face shape identifier are three names for one job: locating the landmarks on a face in a photo, measuring the ratios between them, and matching those ratios to one of seven shapes. Face analysis and face shape AI are broader labels for the same step. The name changes what you type into a search box, not what gets measured.
- What does a detected face shape mean?
- A tool may call its output a detected face shape; here it is the same seven-shape result produced by the photo analysis. The word detected describes how the label was produced — landmarks measured in your browser — not a different category or a more certain answer. The result page prints the margin against all seven shapes so the word is not asked to carry more than it can.
- What is my face shape, and how is that different from asking what face shape do I have?
- Those are two wordings of the same question, and they lead to the same three routes: the photo analysis, the seven-question quiz, or four tape measurements in the calculator. Each route returns a best match plus the margin around it, so a face that sits between two of the seven labels stays visible as a close call rather than being flattened into one name.
- What if the result doesn't look right?
- Fringes, glasses, a tilted head or a hand near the face all shift the ratios. The result page tells you its own confidence, and when it is low it says so plainly. The 60-second quiz and the tape-measure calculator are two independent ways to cross-check.
