What Is a Triangle Face Shape?

A triangle face is the inverse of heart: the jaw is the widest point, the forehead the narrowest, and the outline broadens steadily from top to bottom. It is sometimes called pear-shaped.

How to Tell If You Have a Triangle Face

ForeheadCheekbonesJawLength
The four measurements every shape on this site is defined by.
  1. 1

    Compare jaw and forehead

On a triangle face the jaw measures clearly wider than the forehead. Every other shape has the jaw equal to or narrower than the forehead.

  2. 2

    Check the cheekbones

The cheekbones sit between the two widths rather than being the peak, which separates triangle from diamond.

  3. 3

    Look at the jawline

The jawline is broad and often angular, carrying most of the face's visual weight at the bottom.

Prefer numbers to mirrors? The face shape calculator turns these four measurements into the same ratios the detector uses.
